«L’Orbitrek Elite est l’appareil idéal [...] peu importe votre groupe d’âge ou votre niveau de forme physique.» L’Orbitrek offre effectivement des degrés de résistance adaptés à la plupart des utilisateurs. Rien d’exceptionnel toutefois, puisque les 11 autres appareils testés en font autant. «Vous aurez l’impression de vous déplacer sur un nuage grâce à ce système tout en douceur.» Malheureusement, parmi les 12 modèles évalués, l’Orbitrek a reçu la pire note pour la qualité du mouvement, jugé en général saccadé, surtout à faible vitesse, et parfois désynchronisé entre les bras et les jambes. «Vous avez un entraînement physique qui est facile, agréable, sans aller au gymnase. Vous allez l’adorer!» Pas si on en croit notre jury. En effet, l’Orbitrek a été le moins apprécié globalement, et sa cote négative au chapitre de l’utilisation est loin de refléter un enthousiasme pour cet appareil. Exemples de défauts qu’a relevés le jury: aucun programme d’entraînement préenregistré et l’accès difficile, voire impossible, à la vis d’ajustement de la résistance pendant l’entraînement, comme on le voit sur la photo.
